In November 2024, we welcomed the members of the Swiss Association of Corrosion Protection Companies (VSKF) to Lüsslingen SO.
After the tour of the various areas, such as production, shipping and laboratory, interesting discussions took place over an aperitif.

On February 25, 2021, the Hohentwiel was towed from her home port of Hard to the SBS shipyard in Romanshorn, where she was taken out of the water. The underwater hull underwent a thorough overhaul. The work took about 4 weeks.

The procedure, which involved both the Romanshorn shipyard and the Hohentwiel's nautical crew, went smoothly. 3 tons of quagga shells had to be removed before the overhaul work could begin. The hull, the chimney and the paddle wheels were sanded down and repainted. The crests, including the lettering, were removed, visually refurbished and brushed. Then they were remounted on the freshly painted crimson background, a colour once reserved exclusively for royalty. All decks were also refurbished.
